GATEGATE!

Yes, it feels a bit like that, right? The never-ending story of our Hyndland Street gate into the gardens. It’s not for the want of trying! But so far the problem returns.

Abbey Metal to the rescue! They are sure that this time it will be fully repaired and GATEGATE is finally over. This repair will happen during May.

A new lock will be required and all 100+ homes that access the gardens will have a new key delivered a day or two after the gate is installed.

We will update you more once we have a firm date.

Meet Cherry…

To inject a bit of fun into our new communications, the Committee has designed a brand character for our gardens. The star was easy, our glorious cherry blossom tree. Or Cherry as we like to call her!

Her arms raised, blossoms in the air, she celebrates the key aspects of our gardens: green space, places to sit and be close to plants and trees.

The strap line of ‘growing together’ comes from the recognition of how important the gardens have been to so many residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

You’ll see a lot of Cherry as we roll out the various new ways of reaching out to our association of residents, both online and in the heart of our gardens on the new noticeboard.

Summer BBQ Date Announced

Put the date in your diary: Saturday 20th August 14:00 onwards.

We look forward to the annual opportunity to meet friends and neighbours, more especially as we all emerge from a very challenging time of isolation during the past two years of pandemic restrictions.

The Committee will organise food, ice, soft drinks, plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. And we would also love your help!

If you would like to volunteer (before, during or in the clean up the next day) or donate the use of garden chairs and cool boxes for the event, please let the Committee know through the email address hello@crown.garden
